Self catering tips for your Noosa stay.

Noosa Pacific accommodation have excellent appointed kitchens with everything you need to create a nourishing feast, but for anyone who truly wants to luxuriate in a relaxed holiday feeling out from behind the pots and pans, take serious note of the following self-catering hacks.

Belmondos: Noosa’s self-catering paradise.

Every Noosa local knows about Belmondos, an organic market housing a number of local foodie heavyweights that is quite simply a gourmet oasis. Not only do they have a beautiful selection of organic fruit, vegetables and pantry items at the Bioshop Grocer, it is also home to a number of other award-winning local producers, including Tanglewood Bakery, Clandestino Coffee and Eumundi Meats. Vanilla Foods also has its main kitchen here (visit the off-site café in Noosa Junction after a spot of boutique shopping). This is literally a gourmet one-stop shop for those who love beautiful produce.

The Bioshop has a wide range of hampers, from breakfast to cheese and picnic boards (order from their website or pick and choose from the extensive cold cabinet) as well as a large range of heat-and-serve organic meals, from gluten to dairy free and vegan. Have a few carnivores on board? The amazing people at Eumundi Meats will help you with a large range of marinated meats as well as a just about any organic cut you could possibly feel like. Grab a gorgeous sourdough or pastries from Tanglewood and a bag of coffee from Clandestino- it’s roasted right on site.

The best part about self-catering from Belmondos is the experience itself.  High ceilings and a pleasing aesthetic as well as all these incredibly delicious producers in one spot allows for easy, organic and indulgent meals.

Noosa Farmers’ Markets: bespoke, sustainable catering.

The only down side to the Noosa Farmers’ Market is that it’s only on once a week: Sunday morning. However, regardless of whether you manage to visit at the start, midway or at the end of your stay at Noosa Pacific, there are plenty of self-catering options here to indulge in.

Fruit and vegetables are generally order of the day, from organic to spray-free, locally grown and sourced: it’s all fresh and best of all, you’re buying direct from producers. For ready-made meals, the selection is huge! The butterflied chicken from Bunya Grove is amazing on the barbecue, as are their eggs and homemade preserves. Looking to stock a cheese platter? Try the truffled brie from Sunshine Coast Farm Foods or grab some award winning haloumi from Cedar St Cheeserie. The boys at Soulfish Seafoods stock amazing and fresh seafood including Mooloolaba prawns, while the Noosa Pie Company does excellent value for money family and individual pies for an easy meal later in the week. For sweet nothings (which are actually sweet everythings!) drop into Chocolate Provisions for an absolutely delicious range of baked treats.

Gnocchi. Banana bread. Bone broth. Kimchi. Figs. Lamb chops. Sprouts. Sourdough breads. Gozleme. Coffee. Pesto. Yoghurt…. The list is endless. Take the advice from the Noosa Pacific team: don’t shop hungry! Have a smoothie, juice or coffee and breakfast from one of the many food stalls before you begin your walk around the stalls!
